The American Association of Australasian Literary Studies (AAALS), established in 1986, is a scholarly organization with members on four continents. An invitation to membership is extended to all those interested in Australian and New Zealand literature and culture specifically, and postcolonial studies more generally. AAALS offers its members the opportunity to develop and express their interest in Australian and New Zealand literary and cultural studies through the following:

  • Subscription to Antipodes, a fully refereed global journal of Australian and New Zealand literature and culture.
  • An annual Australasian literary and cultural studies conference that provides a forum for the presentation of scholarly work and social interaction with other members of the academic community.
